Dragons Eyes Pendant by Tracey Spurgin of Craftworx

Dragon's Eyes

This course is suitable for intermediate level metal clay enthusiasts.

I was once selling some of my jewellery when I heard from the crowd and saw a finger pointing directly at one of my pieces "OH WOW look,… it looks like a REAL Dragon".

Now we all know dragons are mythical creatures and there's no such thing as a real dragon, which is brilliant, as this means you don’t have to worry too much about getting the piece anatomically correct. You can conjure up your own ideal dragon, friendly or vicious.

With so much choice you can have a great deal of fun bringing your own dragon to life in this project. You will explore many and wonderful techniques in beginning hand building and sculpting in metal clay.

The course fee includes 50g of Art Clay Silver.

The Projects

The project will begin with your design to create an armature for the main head to create a 3 dimensional skull, which you will begin to hand sculpt using some very basic and surprisingly simple techniques. There will be lots of hints and tips for creating the finer details of features in the dragon's face, eyes, lips, scales and tendrils.

During this Inspiring workshop there will be plenty of suggestions and demonstrations to show you the serveral options.
