Making rings in metal clay can be one of the biggest challenges when working with this medium. As the clay shrinks during firing, the first and most important thing to consider is making the ring to the correct finished size.
Learn the essential tips, tricks and trade secrets to make beautiful silver clay rings, sizing them to account for shrinkage to make perfect seamless ring bands.
With so many different and endless possibilities in ring band shapes, our planned project tasks will challenge your skills while learning new techniques in our own uniquely devised ring making methods.
During the day we will be making two completely different styles of ring. The fantasy ring uses dichroic glass surrounded by a fine silver bezel. The flower ring uses the unique Craftworx flower embellishment on the perfect "D" profile ring band with a delicate flower and leaf design.
These contrasting designs will take you through two completely different methods of making rings, to challenge and broaden your skills.
20g of Artclay Silver and other materials will be provided.
